Daniel is all boy. But he's a boy with a VERY soft heart...and I love him for that. It's such a HUGE responsibility to "train him up in the ways of the Lord" but I want nothing more than for him to be a godly man. He'll soon be 9, but will still hold my hand, something that I know will not last long. I make sure that I NEVER let go first. I coach his soccer team and love watching him play. He can manipulate his mother with those huge blue eyes and he is very loving toward us both.
I usually tell "father's-to-be" that every man needs a daughter. My life changed the day Kayla was born. She's almost 11 now, and we have shared some very special times together. Every year, through her American Heritage Girls organization, we go to the Father/Daughter Dance. She may not want to dance with me a lot, but when she does, I can almost ~feel~ her love for me. What amazes me most is her ability to make whoever she is with feel like they are the most special person in the world...and at that moment, they are. God has certainly blessed her mother and I.
